LemonsandSilver

Here’s a new one I did a couple of weeks ago and forgot to post. It features my lovely silver creamer I rescued from a box of dusty, spidery junk at a yard sale and polished up. I love its elegant lines and how it mirrors whatever it is paired with; in this case deep yellow lemons. It is acrylic on canvas and measures 6″x 12″. Here’s the link to buy: UGallery

My Blue Willow china has been on a break of late but I felt it was time for them to get out again for awhile. This piece is 10″x10″ and is acrylic on canvas. It has been sold.Lemons62516

Here’s a new one. I did a small watercolor study of these grapes some time ago and thought I’d like to do them in acrylic. Once done the piece wanted more so I added the Tiger Swallowtail who is stopping by to check things out. This piece is acrylic on stretched canvas and measures 10″x 10″. This painting is up for sale on UGallery’s website. Here is the link:¬†Ugallery.

applecrop2I’ve been working on this one for the past couple of weeks for a commission. It turned out to be a bigger job than I had anticipated as I happily kept piling more branches into the set up, creating more interesting folds in the cloth, etc. I really can get carried away! It’s acrylic on canvas and measures 12″x24″.

I got these great cherries the last time I was in Trader Joe’s and love the range of reds in this batch. The cloth is a lovely old table linen some distant relation embroidered patiently, no doubt whiling away many a quiet hour. This piece is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and measures 6″x8″. ¬†SOLDcherries618

I was pretty sure when I started this one that the week was going to get away from me so I did the green body of the pears first. Sure enough by now they are very over ripe and a dull yellow but with the pears done already, today I could concentrate on the flowered cloth and shadows. All is well and the pears will be delighting the bunnies and squirrels this evening where I toss them.

This watercolor is 7″x11″. SOLD

I love bartlett pears. Not so much to eat but to paint they are the best. I love the shape, the soft shine, the speckles, and when sometimes they ripen with reds and yellows. But alas this is not the season for local pears so the southern hemisphere comes to the rescue with these Pretty Good Pears. Arranged on a simple plate over this colorful old cloth they work just fine. Thanks, Chile.

This piece is 8″x6″ watercolor on paper. Sold
