Here is another watercolor landscape I did for a class demo. June Lake in the eastern Sierra  and I have some real history together and painting this just felt so familiar. This piece is watercolor on Arches paper and measures 8″x10″. SOLD

This seems almost too obvious. Maybe it is a result of being the end of summer and here is this old Coca Cola glass I’m drinking water out of while staring at the last of the cherries trying to think what to do with them. It was fun to paint and now it’s done I can finish these cherries.

This one is 8″x6″ acrylic on canvas. SOLD

Here’s a still life that isn’t quite still. A delicate butterfly alights on one of the pears before fluttering off again. This piece is acrylic on canvas, measuring 12″x9″. SOLD

I did this watercolor as a demo for a watercolor landscape lesson and liked how it came out. It makes me want to head over to the eastern Sierra this fall and catch those gorgeous aspens. Bishop in late summer has a quiet beauty that is what I was after in this pastoral scene with the White Mountains in the background.

It’s watercolor on paper and measures 8″x10″.

Here’s a new one; another Blue Willow still life with a silver spoon softly reflected in the table top. This piece is 6″x12″ acrylic on canvas. SOLD

These green bartlett pears were so pretty I bought them even though they were organic and way more expensive than the others. Kind of a shame I really am not a great fan of pears, organic or otherwise. Still they make a nice little painting here. I like how they are mirrored in the silver dish.

This painting is acrylic on canvas and measures 6″x8″

I finished this painting last week but needed to let it sit awhile to see if it needed anything before I called it really finished. After a little work on the trees in the foreground I am calling it Done.

This is a view of the landscape from a Tuscan walled city. It was a cloudy day and the distant fields and hills were brightening as the sun broke through the mist.

This piece is acrylic on canvas and measures 11×14.

This bowl has been out making itself useful again and it was a race to finish this little one while the cherries were still edible. I must say these are the sweetest cherries I have had in a long time. SOLD

Anyway, this piece is 6″x6″, acrylic on canvas.

I set out on a walk the other day to see what wildflowers were blooming and the first thing I saw was my neighbor’s irises looking dazzling in the sunshine. Here is  a portrait of an especially gorgeous one.

This painting is acrylic on canvas and measures 8″x10″ SOLD

Right outside my studio door these poppies are blooming enthusiastically now that the weather has finally warmed up. Maybe painting some wildflowers would be a good warmup for me too after being off my painting schedule most of the spring. It’s been a great time visiting with family and traveling but it’s time to buckle back down to work! And work looks like taking a nice walk in the woods with camera and sketchbook. It’s tough but someone has to do it!
