Black Grapes in Blue Willow
These black table grapes were so dramatic, even in their bag in Winco’s produce section I knew I’d be bringing them home to paint, and if I was lucky they’d be good eating too. Yes! Sweet and delicious but oh so good to paint. That black holds reds and blues in its depths so with a pale background and a glass surface the stage is set. This piece is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and measures 6×6″. SOLD. This image is now available as a print on Imagekind.
Queen of Cabbages
This painting had its start at Whole Foods in the spring when they had a special on cabbage (probably for St Patrick’s Day). There was a huge box out by the door of beautiful, rose-like cabbages and this one was the best, as far as I could see. I’ve posed her on a glass surface and added a passing ladybug as a jewel. It is 12″x12″, acrylic on canvas and has now been sold.
Cooper Kettle with Blue and White Teacups
This kettle has been years in the obscurity of a basement box, possibly serving as a home for a family of mice at some point. Now it has a new life as a still life prop and this is its first job. This is an original acrylic painting on smooth museum quality gessobord and measures 6″x6″. SOLD
Cherries on Blue Willow Plate
This batch of cherries has held up bravely but this is the last still life I can squeeze out of them while they are still beautiful. Fortunately they are still edible. This piece is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas (edges painted black) and measures 7″x5″. SOLD.
Blue Creamer with Lemons
Oh I love this little blue pitcher. Its lovely blue glaze is rich and deep and inside it’s kind of a pearly white. And it looks great with lemons. So here we have them creating a nice little still life in one of my favorite color combinations. This painting is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and measures 6×8″. SOLD
Cherries on Embroidered Linen
I got these great cherries the last time I was in Trader Joe’s and love the range of reds in this batch. The cloth is a lovely old table linen some distant relation embroidered patiently, no doubt whiling away many a quiet hour. This piece is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and measures 6″x8″. SOLD
Blue Willow with Lemons
Here’s a new one with not only Blue Willow, tea and lemons, but one of my favorite embroidered linen cloths makes another appearance as well. This one is acrylic on gessobord and measures 6×6″ SOLD
Lemon Ginger Tea in Blue Willow
Here is another in the Blue Willow theme. This tea brews up a lovely warm color. It was rather sad watching it get colder and colder as I got going on this piece. It is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas and measures 8×8″. SOLD
Green Tea in Blue Willow
Here’s a new one with an old faithful cup. Green tea is my mid-morning happy time and I decided to portray the delicate green brew with a familiar setting. This piece is acrylic on board, 6×6″. SOLD. This image is now available as a print on Imagekind.
Silver Creamer with Lemons
Here’s a small gem featuring my silver creamer, polished brightly this time. This painting is acrylic on archival gessobord panel and measures 6″x 6″. SOLD
