Venetian Window

Having just returned from a trip to Italy, I have a wealth of material to sort through. This window in Venice looked out onto a quiet square beyond its bright flowerbox, just as it has for centuries. It is intriguing to think of all the generations that have come and gone, watching children playing below, weddings and funerals at the church opposite, wars, plague, and day to day life.
This piece is 14″x11″ and is acrylic on canvas.
