These two paintings were accepted into the 2012 Contemporary Masters Artistic Eden III show which opened this month. The show is held at the Pasadena Museum of History and celebrates life in the San Gabriel valley. I went down for the opening and was hugely impressed with the size and quality of the show. The show is running through July so if you are in the area get in to see it. Click here to see some of the art on display.

This still life is the very first time I have used this great vintage tablecloth in a set up. I wanted to emphasize the San Gabriel Valley area so I will have to do another to get the rest in. I am submitting this piece into a regional themed show and finished it up just under the deadline. Sadly the cinnamon raisin roll was far too stale for consumption by the time its services as a model were over. This piece is acrylic on canvas and measures 20″x16″. SOLD. This image is available as a print on Imagekind

Tangerines in an old bowl with an orange blossom motif seems very cheery and bright during this onslaught of wintry weather. This painting is watercolor and measures 8″x6″. SOLD

I found these perfect fairchild tangerines in the local market a couple of weeks ago and here they are in the hard-working blue willow bowl. This piece is acrylic on canvas and measures 14″x11″. SOLD

I’ve been working on this one for a few days now, and it seems to be done. These are some of the oranges I photographed over a month ago when they were fresh off the tree. This piece is a watercolor on 140# Arches paper, 10 1/2″x14″

My neighbors brought some great oranges home with them after a recent trip south and I found myself with a bagful of some real beauties. Of course my first thought was STILL LIFE!!!! Yes they are delicious and sweet but those glossy leaves and the rich color begged to be painted first. I took reference photos and have two larger watercolors planned. This one is a study for one of them. The cloth is a lovely old embroidered linen table scarf which has featured in other still lifes. This piece is 6″x6″ and is watercolor on paper. SOLD
